Graduate students in the Master of Fine Arts program in the School of Art, Art History and Design will be hosting an Open Studios event on Nov. 11 from 5 to 8 p.m. in Richards Hall and Woods Art Building. Admission is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
Open Studios is an opportunity for the public to explore the creative studios of artists in the MFA program. These students are working in ceramics, painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography and social practice. Visitors will have the chance to see developing artworks in progress, to ask questions about processes and ideas and to make personal connections with artists whose work moves them.
Raffle tickets will be sold for artworks donated by MFA candidates, which raises funds for upcoming thesis exhibitions in the spring. Raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5. The raffle will end at 7:45 p.m. that evening.
