Researcher Ellen Paparozzi will discuss “The Healing Power of Plants” in the next SciPop Talk at 7 p.m. Feb. 22 in the Adele Coryell Hall Learning Commons.

The talk is free and open to the public.

Ellen Paparozzi, horticulture scientist, will lead the UNL portion of a national research project to boost strawberry production.

Paparozzi, professor of agronomy and horticulture, will explain how plants enhance the environment and influence lives. In her research, Paparozzi focuses on plant nutrition and anatomy, floriculture and ornamental horticulture, plant physiology and production ecology.

The SciPop Talks series, now in its fourth year, combines science and popular culture, building on the science cafe model. It is organized and sponsored by Nebraska’s Department of Chemistry, University Libraries and Doane College. Speakers give interactive 30-minute talks and then take questions.

All talks take place at 7 p.m. in the learning commons on the first floor of Love Library North and are open to the public.
