The Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor seeks applications and nominations for the position of associate vice chancellor and dean of graduate education.
A 12-member committee made up of faculty, staff and students has been formed to guide the search.
The group is chaired by Mark Button, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and professor of political science. Committee members include Tammy Beck, associate dean, College of Business and associate professor of management; Angela Bryan, associate director for Admissions, graduate studies; Ed Cahoon, director of the Center for Plant Science Innovation and George Holmes Professor of Biochemistry; Brittany Duncan, assistant professor of computer science and engineering; Jemalyn Griffin, assistant professor of practice in advertising and public relations; Dave Hansen, professor of psychology; Martha Mamo, department head and John E. Weaver Professor of Agronomy and Horticulture; Kevin Smith, Leland J. and Dorothy H. Chair and professor of political science; Francisco Souto, director and professor of art, art history and design; Anna Headlee, M.C.R P. student, community and regional planning; and Nasrin Naderi Beni, doctoral student, civil and environmental engineering.
The associate vice chancellor and dean of graduate education is the chief academic and administrative officer for graduate education at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and reports directly to the executive vice chancellor. The position will work closely with the executive vice chancellor to establish a strategic vision for graduate education that strengthens the quality of the university’s graduate and professional programs and supports the departments and faculty in the development of graduate offerings in ways that advance N2025 goals.
The position is open to University of Nebraska–Lincoln faculty who hold the rank of full professor with tenure and are a member of the graduate faculty.
