Nebraska’s Student Academy of Audiology will host its seventh annual Huskers for Hearing 5K at 9 a.m. April 27 beginning at Barkley Memorial Center.
The event will benefit HearU Nebraska, a nonprofit organization that provides hearing aids to children across Nebraska who may not otherwise be able to afford them. Since its inception in 2008, HearU Nebraska has provided 708 hearing aids to individuals across the state.
Proceeds from the event will also go towards the Student Academy of Audiology.
For the second year in a row, a virtual option is also available for individuals who would like to participate but are unable to attend the event in Lincoln.
Online registration is available until April 26. Participants ages eight and older will receive a water bottle with their $35 registration fee, and children ages seven and under are free.
Individuals may also register the morning of the event with cash or check payments. The virtual option costs an additional $5 for shipping, and participants are asked to email photos of their distance tracking devices to saa@unl.edu.
