Sheldon Museum of Art has opened seven new exhibitions for the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s spring semester.
The new exhibitions — “The Scene Changes: Sculpture from the Collection,” “Richard Diebenkorn: 41 Etchings Drypoints,” “Fleeting Moments of Joy,” “The Road Less Traveled,” “Figurative Paintings,” “Photography,” and “Sheldon Treasures” — are on view through July 2.
The museum invites the campus community and general public to explore these new exhibitions at First Friday, 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 4. Museum visitors at First Friday will receive kits to make watercolor paintings inspired by the work of artist Alma Thomas, whose painting “Winter Pool” is featured in “Sheldon Treasures.”
Artist and assistant professor of practice Byron Anway has made a video demonstration to guide people through the painting process. The video is available for review online.
