After a summer of highly publicized social justice issues in society, more people are joining the conversation about what can be done.
Presenters Aeriel and Kyle Ashlee share their different life experiences in order to help people understand how stories can have power to create social change. They will speak about their ideas presented in the book “VITAL: A Torch for Your Social Justice Journey.” The premise of their work is that social justice work is hard and can feel overwhelming, but that there are simple steps, using personal experiences, that can empower people in the fight for equity.
The presentation will be held at noon Sept. 1 in the Nebraska Union, Heritage Room. It is free and open to the public.
The presentation is hosted by the Department of Educational Administration and co-sponsored by the Office of Academic Success and Intercultural Services and the Faculty Senate Convocations Committee.
