The University of Nebraska Public Policy Center will begin its annual Thomas C. Sorensen Policy Seminar Series with a talk titled “Nebraska Young Adults and Mental Health: Snapping The Stigma” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 26 in the Sheldon Museum of Art. The lecture is free and open to the public.
David Romano, a therapist and public speaker who struggled with depression for much of his life, will speak on his experiences and give guidance to attendees. Public Policy Center researchers will also present an overview of current statistics related to Nebraska young adults and mental health. The event aims to reduce the stigma often associated with mental-health conditions and educate the community on what resources are available.
