Considerations in this talk will include types of data sharing, data organization, de-identification, legalities and some risk factors. The audience will leave with a better understanding of the various concerns involved with sharing data.
Alian is a data nerd, which is good given her jobs as the Director of the Methodology and Evaluation Research Core Facility, and the Research Data and Security Liaison in the Office of Research and Economic Development at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In both roles, she focuses on data management, data sharing, protection of participants, and communicating findings in accessible language. Alian obtained her PhD and master’s degree in Sociology from NU.
