Dr. Lillian Hussong, a researcher with the Department of Defense.
The School of Global Integrative Studies will host speaker Lillian Hussong, a researcher with the Department of Defense, to discuss U.S. Arctic policy from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. April 10 in the Nebraska Union's Platte River Room.
The Arctic is often touted as an emerging geostrategic theater, but its strategic importance has persisted since the Cold War. Hussong explores the intersection between sovereignty, science and national security to explain the evolving perceptions of why the Arctic matters to U.S. national security.
