More than 2,100 Huskers will get the chance to interact directly with nearly 300 employers during the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s spring career fairs Feb. 12-13.
Organized by Career Services, the career fairs offer students of all majors the opportunity to network with employers who are looking to fill internships and job openings. Each fair day features specific areas of employment.
“The spring career fairs play an important role for students still seeking summer internships and seniors looking for positions ahead of graduation,” said Bill Watts, director of university advising and career services. “It’s also a great opportunity for students to build connections as they prepare for graduation in 2020 and beyond.”
The spring career fairs will be offered over the course of two days, 1 to 5 p.m., Feb. 12-13, all at Embassy Suites, 1040 P St. The schedule represents a location shift for the Agricultural and Natural Resources Career Fair, which will be at Embassy Suites due to construction in the East Union.
The spring Education Career Fair is offered outside of the larger event, from 9 a.m. to noon, March 12 in the Nebraska Union.
Huskers can get a leg up on the events by attending pre-career fair events on Feb. 6-7. These include: Career Fair Prep Night, 4 to 5:30 p.m. Feb. 6 in the Nebraska Union, Centennial Room; and All-Student Practice Interview Day, Feb. 7 in the Career Services Office, Nebraska Union, Room 225.
Employers will be available at both of the pre-career fair events, allowing students to receive first-hand advice from hiring officials. The practice interview day is open to all students, but reservations must be made via Handshake, an online employment portal.
