Lower temps outside call for more activities inside. From DIY projects to opportunities for breaking a sweat, there are plenty of ways to stay active, creative and engaged this November.
Visit a local DIY store
Create something totally unique at one of Lincoln’s amazing DIY stores. Build your own candle at Wax Buffalo, create the perfect fall centerpieces at Of the Earth — Floral Design, paint ceramics at Paint Yourself Silly and so much more. Visit this blog for more local DIY options.
Go thrifting
November is a great time to explore some of Lincoln’s amazing thrift and used clothing stores to boost your winter weather attire on a budget. Ruby Begonia’s, Bud’s Thrift Shop and St. Louise Gift & Thrift are all great, close-to-campus options.
Rock climbing
Itching for a little adventurous exercise? Too cold for an outdoor run or bike ride? November is a great time to try out the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Campus Recreation’s Climbing Center, with rock walls for beginners and experts alike to challenge themselves.
Attend office hours
With finals and other end-of-the-semester projects, November is an opportune time for students to check in with their professors one-on-one. Taking advantage of office hours is a great way to get specific feedback on classwork, professional advice or make a personal connection with your amazing Husker faculty.
