
The University of Nebraska–Lincoln will celebrate the excellence of its student-athletes with “A Night at the Lied” on April 27.
Hosted by the Academics and Life Skills departments, the 35th annual event will honor student-athletes for excellence in academics, athletics, community service and leadership.
The celebration is free and open to the university community. Doors open at 6 p.m. for a red-carpet reception with hors d’oeuvres and dessert selections. Seating begins at 6:30 p.m. with the program starting at 7 p.m. Registration for the celebration is available via Huskers.com.
Honors being presented include:
- Best Athlete to one female and a male student-athlete for their outstanding athletic performance during the past year;
- Outstanding Scholar Award to nine Huskers at the end of their collegiate athletic careers who hold a cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 3.9 or better; and
- Heart and Soul Awards, the most prestigious individual honor presented by the Life Skills Department and reserved for student-athletes who exhibit the highest level of commitment to leadership, service and mentorship during their time as a Husker.
Other awards to be presented include Rookie of the Year; Herman Team GPA Award; Sam Foltz Hero 27 Leadership Award; Tom Osborne Citizenship Team Medallions; and Academic Medallions.
The ceremony will culminate with the awarding of the 2025 female and male Student-Athletes of the Year. Selected by a committee, the award recipients will receive the Big Ten Medal of Honor.
