To foster the creative work of University of Nebraska students, Sheldon Museum of Art is hosting The Convo Project, awarding a first prize of $1,000 and a second prize of $500.
The Convo Project is a juried competition seeking original creative projects inspired by the color black. Submissions may take the form of any media—visual art, musical composition, writing, fashion, graphic design, video, architecture, animation, interactive media, cinematic arts, data visualization or other emerging media.
The competition coincides with “In Conversation: Black,” an exhibition that invites viewers to explore the theme of darkness through detail concealed in shadow and revealed in light. On view through December 31, the exhibition features works by artists including John Divola, Joyce Pensato, Martin Puryear, Richard Serra and Frank Stella.
