Students are invited to join the Big Red Resilience and Well-being team by applying for positions by March 6.
Student volunteers staff the Husker Pantry, provide money coaching at Husker Hub, lead REACH suicide prevention sessions, support outreach and programming efforts, and provide well-being coaching to peers.
Volunteer applications are currently available through the Big Red Resilience website. Ideal volunteers are students who want to empower their peers to live their best lives, now and in the future. The minimum volunteer commitment is one semester.
Opportunities include:
Husker Pantry volunteers staff the pantry, speak to campus groups about pantry services, and assist with pantry events throughout the year.
Money coaches meet one-on-one with other students to help them strengthen their financial well-being and reduce their financial stress. Money Coaches may also partner with Husker Hub to offer specialized support to UNL students.
REACH undergraduate trainers assist Big Red Resilience and Well-being with suicide prevention initiatives, including the delivery of REACH suicide prevention trainings for UNL students, faculty, and staff.
Well-being ambassadors present programs about topics related to student well-being. Well-being Ambassadors increase awareness, encourage safer behaviors, create informed decision-makers, and enhance the health and well-being of their peers.
Well-being coaches help other students thrive and create the life they want to live, both now and in the future. They promote the nine dimensions of well-being that provides a framework for exploration and balance.
