Global Cafe, an event open to all University of Nebraska–Lincoln students, faculty and staff, will host an informational session about City Year at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 6.
City Year is a national service program dedicated to helping students and schools succeed. The organization partners with public schools in 29 high-need communities across the United States, and through international affiliates in the United Kingdom and Johannesburg, South Africa. City Year brings young adults from diverse backgrounds for a demanding year of full-time community service. For soon-to-be graduates, City Year is an opportunity to gain valuable professional experience while also giving back to communities.
This information session will be led by Sabrina M. Castro, regional recruitment manager for the Midwest, and moderated by Emira Ibrahimpašić, assistant professor of practice and assistant director of global studies in the School of Global Integrative Studies.
