Out of the Darkness is a suicide prevention group on campus that works with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to host an annual campus walk for suicide prevention.
In Nebraska, suicide is the second leading cause of death in 15-34 year-olds. The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Out of the Darkness Walk’s goal is to raise awareness about suicide prevention, while raising money to fund educational programs about mental health. This organization is aiming to make our community a safe and educational space to talk about mental health issues.
