Emergent quantum materials and technologies is the theme for the symposium hosted by the Nebraska Center for Materials and Nanoscience.

The event begins at 8:30 a.m. March 26 and runs through 2 p.m. March 27 at Willa Cather Complex. An agenda and information on the speakers are available online.

The symposium, which includes lunch, is free, but pre-registration is required for attendance.

This event aims to gather internationally renowned experts in quantum topics for scientific dialogue. The program includes scientific presentations by experts from throughout the nation, as well as Nebraska scholars on quantum materials, technologies and information processing. In addition, a poster session will engage discussion among invited speakers, postdocs, graduate and undergraduate researchers.

Nebraska’s Emergent Quantum Materials and Technologies group includes physicists, chemists and engineers from universities throughout the state, including the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Creighton University and the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Christian Binek, professor of physics, who leads Nebraska’s team, plans “an exchange of cutting-edge results, ideas and developments in this rapidly evolving field.”
