Three students who participated in the College of Business Administration’s Nebraska at Oxford Program last summer were awarded scholarships at an Oct. 5 celebration of the program’s 25th year.
The students are Adam Smith, a junior from Carroll, Iowa, majoring in economics and accounting with a finance minor; Marissa Curtis, a junior from Alliance, majoring in economics and English with minors in political science and ag economics; and Christina Guthmann, a junior from Omaha majoring in international business. Smith’s scholarship is worth $1,000, while Curtis and Guthmann each won $500 awards.
More than 1,600 students have participated in the Nebraska at Oxford Program, including 71 in 2013. UNL’s most popular study-abroad program, it is open to students of all academic majors, including undergraduate students with at least sophomore standing. Participating students spend four weeks in July and August at England’s Oxford University, where they have the opportunity to earn six UNL credit hours while experiencing the culture of the United Kingdom.
