The University of Nebraska–Lincoln is launching Our Bold Path Forward, a strategic framework to guide the university through the 2028-29 academic year. The university community will have a direct role in shaping the plan through a series of workshops and feedback opportunities.
The initiative, which will align with the University of Nebraska system’s Odyssey to Extraordinary vision, is scheduled for completion by July 1. It is designed to provide guidance for colleges, units and departments as they identify priorities and actionable steps to advance the university’s goals.
Interim Chancellor Katherine S. Ankerson said the framework is being built collaboratively.
“It is more important than ever that we work together across UNL to co-create a universitywide strategic framework — not something developed around us, but something built by us,” she said in a March 30 email to faculty and staff.
Three universitywide roundtable workshops are scheduled in April to gather input from faculty, staff, and students:
- April 3, 8 to 9:30 a.m. — Willa Cather Dining Complex, Red Cloud Room (in-person only)
- April 10, 10 to 11:30 a.m. — Nebraska East Union, Great Plains Room (in-person only)
- April 20. 1 to 2 p.m. — Virtual roundtable (URL to be announced)
Facilitated discussions at these sessions will complement conversations being held within individual departments, colleges and units. Members of the university community are also encouraged to submit feedback online.
Ankerson said she hopes every member of the university community will participate over the next six weeks.
“Together, we will move forward with purpose and determination to define and advance our future,” she said.
