University to host institute for ESL grad students

.

The 2017 Institute for International Teaching Assistants will be July 24 to Aug. 4 in Burnett Hall on City Campus.

International graduate students who speak English as a second language and have not received a degree from a U.S. college or university must complete the institute before being appointed as graduate teaching assistants at the university. The intensive training program focuses on instructional strategies, classroom management and active learning, English pronunciation and intonation, and cross-cultural communication.

Students must register through their academic departments to participate in the institute. For more information, visit http://www.unl.edu/gradstudies/current/ita or contact Angela Bryan at abryan3@unl.edu.
