The University of Nebraska–Lincoln has launched an online resource outlining the plan to reduce its state-aided budget by $27.5 million. The plan is in response to a structural deficit and projected challenges in fiscal year 2026.
The reductions include $21 million to close the structural gap and $6.5 million in proactive cuts. Since fiscal year 2020, the university has made permanent budget reductions totaling approximately $75 million.
The website includes the rationale for current reductions, an overall timeline, process details, leadership messages and links to past budget information. It will be updated regularly with key milestones as the budget process moves forward.
