Vietnamese students offer cultural showcase on Feb. 15

A Lunar New Year decoration hanging in a tree heralds Vietnamese calligraphy that translates to wishes of best luck for all. The Vietnamese Student Association will hold a festival celebrating Vietnamese culture on Feb. 15.

The Vietnamese Student Association will hold Hello Vietnam, an annual cultural showcase, on Feb. 15. The event will be 5:30 to 9 p.m. in the Nebraska Union, Centennial Room.

Hello Vietnam is a night that displays traditional Vietnamese culture through entertainment from students on campus and will feature a variety of Vietnamese food. The 2020 theme is “A Night in Vietnam.”

The event is open to the public. Dress code is traditional attire or semi-formal to formal attire. Event updates will be posted on the Facebook event page.

Tickets to attend will be sold via booths in the Nebraska Union, 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Jan. 23, 24, 28 and 29. Cost is $12 per ticket in advance and $15 at the door the night of the event. Tickets will also be sold in the Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center, Room 334.

Groups of eight may reserve a table for $84 and will receive one free ticket.
