Students from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln's environmental studies orientation course examine recycle labels on bottles collected from bins in Hardin Hall on March 24. The students conducted a waste audit, learning how to gauge the success of a recycling program.
When complete, the audit will provide a complete report on the effectiveness of recycling within the hall. The report will include the amount of material found in trash bins that could potentially be recycled or composted instead. Along with showing the students how to complete the process, it also provides guidance on areas for improvement within the building.
