Bio

Sharon Kuska is a registered professional civil engineer who teaches courses in architecture, computer applications in architecture and architectural design. Her topics of interest include rural architecture, bridges, and seismic design. She has studied covered bridge origins and design, four-square housing design and construction and high-strength concrete column design. Kuska is part of UNL’s Sustainability Initiative to improve the university’s environmental footprint and to build a more sustainable and resilient UNL community.

Bio

F. John Hay, an extension educator in biological systems engineering, teaches both adults and youth about biofuels such as ethanol and biodiesel, bioenergy crops and small renewable energy systems. He is familiar with small wind turbines, solar PV and the economics of those systems. Hay also has developed curriculum for youth that uses renewable energy to teach engineerings and physics.
