Farmland Values and Rental Rates

Jim Jansen is an agricultural economist at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. His current research and outreach efforts focus on finance, policy, and agricultural real estate. Jim serves as a member of the extension team, providing risk management solutions in farm and ranch management. He has a decade of experience working with agricultural operators and business professionals. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Agribusiness and Economics from South Dakota State University, a Master’s Degree in Agronomy and a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

Jim Jansen began working on the survey while studying with agricultural economist Bruce Johnson, the survey’s long-time author. He and Jeffrey Stokes, a finance professor in agricultural economics, took over the survey after Johnson’s retirement. Updated 3/11/2024
