Bio

Nora Peterson is Susan J. Rosowski Associate Professor of French. Her research centers on early modern literature and culture, with particular interests in women’s writing; representations of the body; and intersections between literary texts and institutional discourse (religion, law, court) in 16th century France. Peterson also has expertise in German, with an advanced degree in French and German comparataive literature and a cultural background from Germany. (Updated March 2025.)
