“BugFest,” the annual open house for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Department of Entomology, is 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 20 in Entomology Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

The open house will feature professors and students providing information on insects, laboratory demonstrations, door prizes and live music. A variety of activities will be available for children such as the build-a-bug workshop and an insect zoo.

“Faculty, staff and students in the Department of Entomology really look forward to this event each year,” said Lisa Silberman, BugFest coordinator. “It’s fun to open our doors to the community and give them a glimpse into the exciting world of entomology.”

Free parking is available north of the East Union. For more information, contact Silberman at lsilberman1@unl.edu or 402-472-3416.
