The UNL campus bands will be presenting a concert of two halves at 7:30 p.m. April 23 in Kimball Hall.
The program will open with the Donald A. Lentz Concert Band performing “Music From the Vernacular.” The performance will include folk songs, blues, gospel, jazz, rock and Dixieland music. Composers include David Biedenbender, Barry Kopetz, Julie Rousse, Alvin Singleton and Randall Standridge.
The second half of the concert will feature the Jack R. Snider Concert Band playing a collection titled “Land and Sky.” The performance will include works by composers Brian Balmages, Rob Grice, Samuel Hazo, Pierre LaPlante, John Mackey and Richard Saucedo.
Tickets are $5 general admission and $3 for students and senior citizens.
