Canadian Brass, one of the most popular brass ensembles today, will perform a holiday-themed show at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 19 at the Lied Center for Performing Arts.

“You can’t help but be in the holiday spirit when you listen to Canadian Brass,” said Bill Stephan, executive director of the Lied Center. “As individuals, they are masters of their craft. Together they bring an incredible blend of virtuosity and charm to the stage.”

Friends Chuck Daellenbach and Gene Watts first came together with three other players in 1970 to form a brass quintet — a chamber music setting not entirely new, but never before having garnered the success and storied career Canadian Brass would achieve over the next 40 years. Masters of concert presentations — from formal classical concerts to music served up with lively dialogue and theatrical effects — Canadian Brass has developed a uniquely engaging stage presence and rapport with audiences.

Tickets, starting at $28 for adults and $14 for students, are available online, at the Lied Center box office, or by phone at 402-472-4747.
