ChamberFest concerts coming up in December

UNL’s Glenn Korff School of Music ChamberFest concerts will start in December on the UNL campus. All of the performances are free and open to the public.

The UNL Honors ChamberFest concerts taking place on Dec. 13 and Dec. 14 will feature the most advanced student ensembles from UNL’s Chamber Music Program. The ensembles were selected by faculty from over 20 ensembles to represent some of the exciting work that has taken place throughout the semester.

The first Honors ChamberFest Concert at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 13 in the Kimball Recital Hall will feature three piano trios: “The triumphant Piano Trio No. 1 in B Major, Op. 8” by Johannes Brahms; “Piano Trio, Op. 67 in e minor” by Dmitri Shostakovich; and “Three Watercolors” by Phillipe Gaubert.

The second concert at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 14 in the Kimball Recital Hall will feature student ensembles performing “String Quartet No. 3” by Dmitri Shostakovich; “Suite No. 1 for Two Pianos” by Sergei Rachmaninoff; “Kleine Kammermusik, Op. 24 No. 2” by Paul Hindemith; and “Piano Trio in E-flat Major Kegelstatt, K. 498” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
