UNL employees can enroll to receive a digital W-2 form for the 2014 tax season.
Faculty and staff who previously opted to receive a digital W-2 do not need to register again. Once enrolled, the digital option carries forward each year. Employees who do not enroll will be unable to view their W-2 statement online.
Per federal regulations, employees must consent to receive a digital W-2 by completing a secure electronic document available on the Firefly employee portal.
After logging in to Firefly, employees must click “Employee Self Service,” then find the “Enroll for W-2 Online Delivery” under the “Payment” category. To complete the process, employees must click the “Receive my W-2 statement online in Firefly” option, the “I understand and accept the terms and conditions” box and the “Submit and Save Selection” button.
Once complete, a screen will report that the selection has been saved and a confirmation email will be sent.
The deadline to submit a digital W-2 enrollment is 5 p.m. Dec. 31.
Employees who do not make a selection will automatically be enrolled to receive traditional paper W-2 forms.
