The Lied Center for Performing Arts will host a free film series designed to reflect upcoming shows on the Lied stage.
The “Silver Screenings” series opens with a 7 p.m. Jan. 28 showing of “The Diavolo Project” in the Nebraska Union Ballroom. The film features eight teaching artists from Nebraska taking part in an intense dance course with Jacques Heim, founder and artistic director of the dance company Diavolo.
The Los Angeles-based Diavolo dance group performs at the Lied Center on Feb. 3.
Other screenings in the series include:
“The Red Violin,” 7 p.m. Feb. 25, Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center, held in advance of Joshua Bell’s March 13 Lied performance; and
“Finding Neverland,” 7 p.m. March 5, Ross Media Arts Center, held in advance of the March 23 Lied performance of “Peter and the Starcatcher.”
After each screening, free desserts and refreshments will be provided by the Lied Center.
