The Friends of Lied Golf Tournament benefiting the Lied Center for Performing Arts will be Aug. 11 at the Hillcrest Country Club, 9401 E. O St. Proceeds support Lied Center programming and numerous behind-the-scenes activities that provide arts education to youth, free tickets to underserved populations and special programs like Arts Across Nebraska.
Registration is open to the public. The deadline to register is Aug. 1. The cost for individual registration is $125. Teams of four can play for $500. Registration includes 18 holes of golf and use of a golf cart. Play will be a four-person scramble. To register or for more information, contact Donna Seefeld at 402-472-4704 or dseefeld1@unl.edu.
Schedule of events: 11:30 a.m. — players arrive/register; noon — lunch of hamburgers, brats, chips, dessert and refreshments; 1 p.m. — shotgun start; 6 — appetizers and cocktails following play; 6:30 — awards announced; 7:15 — door prizes and silent auction announced.
Hole sponsorships are available for purchase at $200. Sponsors will receive recognition in all printed materials and on their sponsored tee box.
The Friends of Lied organization has supported the Lied Center for Performing Arts ever since ground was broken for construction 25 years ago. The Friends have provided more than $4.3 million to support the Lied Center’s mission to educate, inspire and entertain the people of Nebraska through the performing arts in all capacities.
