Industry panel to discuss biotechnology

Industry leaders will discuss biotechnology during a 1:30 p.m. Oct. 22 presentation in the Beadle Center auditorium. The event is part of Bioscience Week activities organized by the University of Nebraska.

Biosciences Week, Oct. 20-24, recognizes the life sciences industry and successful partnerships between industry, academia and government that foster a growing bioscience ecosystem in Nebraska.

The “Experiencing Biotechnology” discussion will include representatives from Great Plains Biotechnology, LI-COR, Pioneer H-Bred, Materials and Machines Corporation of America and Nebiotec. The event will discuss biotechnology opportunities, advancements and challenges and explore the future of drug development, animal health, agriculture and devices.

The panel is hosted by Bio Nebraska Life Sciences Association, NUtech Ventures and UNL’s Office of Research and Economic Development in coordination with UNL’s Department of Biochemistry.

Oct. 24 — Group Discussion: Emerging Biotechnology — Positioning Nebraska at the Forefront of Modern Ag, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monsanto Utilization Center, Gothenburg, Neb., with Greg Ibach, director of agriculture.
