A Stanford University researcher will discuss how social media and texting are not eroding students’ ability to read and write in a 3:30 p.m. Nov. 4 talk in the Bailey Library in Andrews Hall.
The talk, “Writing and Reading in the Digital Age,” will be led by Andrea Lunsford, a professor of English at Stanford. Lunsford is author of a longitudinal study into students’ writing practices in and beyond college. In the study, Lunsford outlines how new media are changing — even increasing — students’ literacy practices.
Lunsford’s talk is free and open to the public.
