Preview of 'ArtWork' exhibit is Jan. 21

The Sheldon Museum of Art hosts a preview of the new exhibition “ArtWork: Art and Labor,” at 5 to 8 p.m. Jan. 21.

Brandon Ruud, former curator of transnational American art at the Sheldon, will introduce the exhibit, which he organized. His lecture, “Hoydens and Hooligans: The Peril and Spectacle of Labor,” begins at 5:30 p.m.

Admission to the museum and lecture are free.

“ArtWork,” which opens Jan. 24 and continues through May 25, features approximately 90 objects in a variety of media. The exhibit will be accompanied by a full-color catalogue with thematic essays.
