Registration open for IT leadership conference


Registration is open for “Opportunity that Scales: Women Advancing the Future of Information Technology and Computer Science,” an IT leadership conference that is Nov. 16 at UNL.

The conference, which is free and open to the public, will focus on awareness on and issues with recruiting and retaining women in information technology and computer science.

Guest speakers include Florence D. Hudson, senior vice president and chief innovation officer, Internet 2 and Melissa Woo, chief information officer, University of Oregon. Hudson and Woo will discuss their paths to leadership, as well as the challenges and perspectives on why increasing diversity advances the fields of information technology and computer science.

The conference is sponsored by UNL’s Information Technology Services and the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
