Registration open for spectrometry symposium

UNL faculty, post-doctorates and graduate students interested in protein science and mass spectrometry can register to attend the 2013 Nebraska Symposium on Mass Spectrometry, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 18 at the East Union. Registration, available at http://go.unl.edu/bosz, is due Oct. 15.

This free symposium is hosted by UNL in cooperation with Waters Corporation Centers of Innovation.

Topics and speakers include:

• Mass spectrometry and its role in protein biophysics, Michael L. Gross, Washington University; • targeted glycoproteomics, Fred E. Regnier, Purdue University; • identifying and quantifying glycoprotein glycans, Ron Orlando, University of Georgia; • protein separation technology coupled to tandem mass spectrometry, M. Arthur Moseley, Duke University; • forensic ion accounting, Scott Geromanos, Waters Corp.; • oxidative stress-induced protein modifications, Jiri Adamec, UNL; • characterizing recombinant therapeutic glycoproteins, Kevin Van Cott, UNL; • challenges in glycoproteomics, Eric D.
