Retirement reception for Christensen is June 27

A retirement reception for Linda Christensen will be held June 27.

University Housing will host an open house reception from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1115 N. 16th St., Room 101. A special presentation for Christensen is scheduled for 10 a.m. The open house and presentation are free and open to the public.

Christensen, who has a bachelor’s degree from UNL in education, lived on-campus in Pound and Selleck halls as a student. She has served UNL for 22 years as coordinator of business operations in the housing contracts department. Before joining University Housing, she was at NET.

During her time at UNL, Linda led the implementation of the new housing software portal, always keeping the student clientele in mind for their best experience. As a leader of the housing contracts department she has demonstrated how technology and personal attention to each student and parent can best serve the mission of the university.

She was awarded the Board of Regents Kudos Award and is also the recipient of the UNL Parents Recognition Award from the UNL Parents Association.

In retirement Linda plans on spending time with family, traveling and gardening.

“UNL has been an exciting and rewarding place to work. I have been fortunate to work with a great group of dedicated staff who are lucky enough to be inspired by a new group of students every fall,” Christensen said.
