Swiss theater troupe Mummenschanz will bring a program that showcases incredible humor, versatility and imagination to the Lied Center for Performing Arts, 301 N. 12th St., on Wednesday, March 18.

Experience a stunning spectacle of entertainment and fantasy for all ages. Tickets for a single performance at 7 p.m. are on sale now at http://liedcenter.org, at the box office, or by phone at 402-472-4747. UNL students can purchase tickets at a 50 percent discount with a valid NCard.

Since its three-year run on Broadway, Mummenschanz has pioneered a new form of visual theater that has spawned multiple new genres. Formed by members Andres Bossard, Floriana Frassetto and Bernie Schürch, the troupe has inspired generations of show-goers across five continents over four decades. These mesmerizing stories are told without sound or music; the language of Mummenschanz is universal.

In the wordless universe of Mummenschanz, the ordinary becomes extraordinary when common materials, everyday objects such as toilet paper and colorful abstract shapes and forms like the famous “Clay Masks,” “Slinky Man” and “Giant Hands” spring to life.

By creating a playful yet compelling experience through the inventive use of shadow, light and creative manipulation of objects, Mummenschanz offers timeless insight on the human condition. The result is a sensational performance that transcends cultural barriers and sparks the imagination.
