Tickets, casting open for student runway show


The 2014 Biennial Student Runway Show is April 25. Ticket sales open March 7. Casting calls are March 5 and 11.

Ticket sales and casting calls for UNL's Biennial Student Runway Show begin this week. The show, which is April 25 and features fashion designs by UNL students, is presented by the Department of Textiles, Merchandising and Fashion Design.

Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. March 7 online at http://marketplace.unl.edu/tmfd. Admission is available at three levels — VIP, $100, includes reception, dinner and reserved seating; premium, $50 with reserved seating; and general admission, $10.

Open casting calls for male and female student models are 7 p.m. March 5 and 11 in the Nebraska Union (room posted).

The Biennial Student Runway Show is a collaboration between the College of Education and Human Sciences and Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts.

Fashions are created by UNL students within Education and Human Sciences' textiles, merchandising and fashion design program. The menu for the VIP reception and dinner is designed and prepared by students within CEHS' culinary program. And, UNL's hospitality program, also part of CEHS, manages the event.

Fine and Performing Arts students in the Glenn Korff School of Music write original scores for the runway show. And, students in the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film plan and run lighting for the event.

The 2014 Biennial Student Runway Show is 8 p.m. April 25 in the Nebraska Union's Centennial Room.
