On April 9, all UNL faculty and staff members will be invited to get tools needed to foster creativity and new thinking approaches at the “Tools for Creativity and Innovation” at the University Association for Administrative Development Event. The event will also teach how to be more innovative and creative, for use at work and beyond. Seminar runs from 2-4 p.m. at Innovation Campus. Registration is required by April 7.
The presenter will be Shane Farritor, who joined the faculty of the Department of Mechanical Engineering in 1998. Prior to coming to UNL he worked in the Field and Space Robotics Laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Unmanned Vehicle Lab at the C.S. Draper Laboratories. As a member of the Nebraska Innovation Campus’s faculty advisory committee, Farritor led the effort to create a makerspace there. The Nebraska Innovation Studio encourages interactions between students during the creative and building processes. It was launched by its first course, “Making for Innovation,” this spring.
The cost will be $20 for UAAD members and $35 for non-members.
