Ron Himes, producing director of the St. Louis Black Repertory Company, directed the play “Dutchman” — featuring Emily Raine Blythe and Eugene H. Russell IV (pictured) — at the Nebraska Repertory Theatre in February 2019. Himes will serve as consultant for the new two-year collaboration between Nebraska Rep and The Black Rep.

Michael James demonstrates his hand-quilting method for workshop participants at Strawberry Fayre, a quilt shop in Stockbridge, England, in 1980. The shop’s owners, Jenny and Alec Hutchison, were responsible for bringing James to England for the first time in 1980. Through the ’80s and ’90s, he lectured and taught workshops there and throughout Europe annually, networking widely with fellow quilt artists.
