Partnership helps manage piping plovers, terns

School of Natural Resources grad student Dakota Altman (foreground) and junior Kole Karcher helped identify waterfowl by age and sex, a data collection activity that would normally take place in Kansas in late February during the Central Flyway Wingbee. Due to the coronavirus, wings collected through a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service survey were sent out to longtime Wingbee participants, who brought in help to get the work done.
