The new beetle species Trox paulseni was named in recognition of M.J. Paulsen, a collection manager at the University of Nebraska State Museum who discovered it.

Carissa Raymond (right) holds fossilized teeth of a multituberculate mammal, a small rodent-like creature that lived at the end of the dinosaur’s era. During summer 2014, Raymond found a similar fossil later identified as a previously unknown multituberculate species while on a dig in New Mexico.
