Nebraska’s Campus Red Cross Club will host a winter blood drive from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 21-23 in the Nebraska Union’s Centennial Room.
The need for blood is especially high right now. Donors at high schools and colleges give approximately 20% of the annual U.S. blood supply.
Those planning to donate are encouraged to:
Eat before their appointment
Drink lots of water
Get a good night’s sleep
Fill out a RapidPass at http://rcblood.org/2ClcFbj
Though those planning to donate blood are also encouraged to register at the Red Cross website by using the code UNLSavesLives, walk-in donors are welcome. To give blood, a person must be 16 years or older, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. Donors will receive a T-shirt.
