Coffee with the Chancellor to cap Glow Big Red event

Feb. 16 event to include giveaways, celebration of Only in Nebraska campaign

The Chancellor is providing free drip coffee from Starbucks Dec. 13-17 as students take on finals week.

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln will wrap up the fifth annual Glow Big Red — 24 Hours of Giving event by offering free coffee with Chancellor Ronnie Green.

Coffee with the Chancellor is 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 16 by Starbucks locations in the Nebraska Union and Nebraska East Union. The event will include free coffee, popcorn, door prizes and other giveaways.

The celebration will also mark the University of Nebraska Foundation’s Only in Nebraska campaign.

Glow Big Red, which is noon Feb. 15 to noon Feb. 16, is the university’s annual giving event during which students, alumni, faculty, staff and the Husker community at large come together to support scholarships, colleges and programs, student groups and activities, inclusion, mental health and other important causes.

In honor of the campaign’s fifth year, this year’s goal is 5,000 gifts.

In a true reflection of Husker spirit, the 2022 Glow Big Red campaign set a campaign record. A total of $598,575 was raised during the 24-hour period with Husker faithful representing every U.S. state and six nations giving to UNL.

Glow Big Red started in 2019 in recognition of the university’s 150th anniversary.
