The College of Education and Human Sciences’ Counseling and School Psychology Clinic has immediate openings for faculty, staff, students and their children to see counselors who are in training within the school and counseling psychology graduate program.
The clinic offers low-cost, sliding scale mental health counseling and ADHD/Learning Disability assessment services for children, adolescents and adults. Student therapists and a postdoctoral fellows provide services in the clinic, supervised by licensed psychologists.
The clinic addresses a wide array of concerns, including academic issues, inattention, depression, anxiety, social skills, life transitions, and learning difficulties. Specific services for children and adolescents also include offering parenting supports for managing misbehavior, increasing positive interactions with their children, and supporting children with presenting concerns. The CSPC is also able to collaborate with schools, doctors, and other service providers at the family’s request.
Counseling is sensitive to race, gender, age, ability, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, and religion. The clinic has immediate openings for children/adolescents ages 3-18, and adults 18-plus affiliated with UNL and the public. All UNL students, staff, and faculty members and their children receive a special flat rate for sessions offered at the CSPC.
The CSPC also has collaborated with the Swanson Foundation to offer free in-person and telehealth services for those living in rural communities throughout Nebraska.
