The Office of Diversity and Inclusion will offer a webinar, “Lessons from National Protests: Strategies for Curriculum and Community Engagement,” on June 18 at 2:30 p.m.
Utilizing the current national protests for foundational engagement and learning, this webinar will provide strategies to incorporate anti-racism and race equity into curriculum and community action, providing resources needed to facilitate dialogue and learning through socio-political activism. Introducing race as a framing lens through elements of critical race theory, this session will also introduce approaches to inform teaching methodology, cross-cultural communication, connection, interaction and engagement during this period of national and global disruption.
The session will led by Nkenge Friday, assistant vice chancellor for strategic initiatives in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, and Helen Fagan, director of leadership engagement for Rural Futures Institute and assistant professor of practice.
Registration is available online. For more information, please email diversity@unl.edu.
