When Husker football plays at home, campus parking permit rules shift for the university community. Here is a summary of those changes.
Vehicles with faculty and staff permit event Stickers may park in these designated campus areas on football game days:
Surface lots at 16th and X Streets (east side of 16th Street near the Boathouse) and 1700 Y Street.
Perimeter lot at 15th and Court Streets.
Devaney Sports Center lots at 16th and Court Streets.
Permit event stickers are new this year with the campus license plate recognition system. With the system, the vehicle license plate serves as the parking permit. For faculty and staff with a surface lot permit, a permit event sticker is required for Husker football games. Garage permit holders must display their hangtag.
Permit event stickers are available at no additional cost to permit holders. To get a sticker this week, permit holders can go to the Parking and Transit Services office, 625 Stadium Drive, Suite A.
The sticker does not provide expanded campus parking during Husker football games. Game day parking remains limited to the designated areas detailed above and here.
Campus parking permit holders cannot park in standard assigned parking areas during game day preparation and activities. Parking areas close at 10 p.m. the night before a home game, and vehicles parked in violation of campus rules can be ticketed and towed.
